UME was created as a way for me to overcome the limitations I found when trying to sell my used Jpop, Jrock, Jska, Visual Kei, Eurobeat CDs online and I figured that if I was having problems, then others might be as well. The end result is UME.
Import and underground music is my hobby and being able to find a greater selection at reasonable prices allows me to experiment more and be surprised by what I find.
For me, this is the whole point of the exercise and this site is meant to cater to hobbyists like myself who have a few items or a collection to sell, as opposed to individuals that make a living from buying and selling underground music.
Please note, UME is not intended to be a new forum as each forum for Japanese music has its own character, community and style and I just wouldn't do a good job of running one. As such, I have been listing the Japanese music forums I know in the UME forum and if you know of one that isn't listed, please post a comment there I'll add it to the list.
